Membership in Sons of Confederate Veterans is limited to male lineal or collateral descendants of those who served honorably in the Confederate armed forces. Your kinship must be documented genealogically. We have genealogist on staff to assist you with locating and documenting your Confederate ancestry.
Note: LINEAL refers to a blood descendant of the veteran.
Note: COLLATERAL is not a direct descendant of the veteran, but you share a common ancestor. So, in this case, the veteran is your great uncle, great-great uncle, 3rd cousin, etc... Both the lineal and collateral relationships are acceptable kinships for membership.
The camp's membership committee is ready to answer any questions as well as help you file the proper documents and submit your application along with the $55 fee.
After submission to the National Headquarters and a few weeks processing time, your membership card and certificate will be mailed to the Camp committee members. That's all there is to it. We will be proud to have you in our camp.
